Management Development

We have built and are able to customise robust, comprehensive, detailed and cost effective Management Development Solutions that support organisations goals and objectives and succession planning initiatives.

In our view there are 4 important Management Development paths to consider

1. Leadership Development

2. Performance Management Development

3. Business Management Development

4. A customised on-the-job process that supports the previous three portals and serves as evidence of the employees competence and ability to move forward.

Overview of the Store Management Development program:

Our Retail Management Development program details a specific pathway that will prepare selected candidates to:

a. Take the next steps towards becoming a store manager

b. Assist existing managers to become more effective and efficient

c. Develop skills in areas they may be lacking or wishing to pursue further

d. Prepare them to tackle the rigors and challenges of managing in a retail environment

e. Develop sound leadership skills for future involvement in senior management roles

It will give you and your organisation the confidence to know that, when called upon to manage a store or even a region, your managers will be ready and better equipped to perform from day one.

The training takes 12 to 18 months to complete

How does the program work?

Only a selected number of candidates will commence the program, at each intake.

The program has been designed as a series of  in-store modules (up to 24)  covering company specific competencies and standards. In addition, there are up to 13 classroom days of training, covering all the essential elements required to be an effective manager. These classroom days are facilitated in-house by experienced facilitators.

Existing training modules currently run by your organisation can be incorporated into the program with very little fuss.

After the completion of each module, candidates will be required to complete an assignment. These assignments will be assessed by an appointed mentor (usually an internal manager). In addition to this, there are three formal assessments completed by an external assessor working in conjunction with the Retail Institute.

These regular assessments are designed to keep the candidate on track and ensure that all of the pieces of the jigsaw are in place.

We have taken great care to 'mapp' this program with the accreditation requirements of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). Candidates  will graduate with a National Certificate In Retail Level 4 on successful completion of the final assessment.
